Phoenix Point has a lot of interesting ideas to contribute to the revitalized turn-based tactics genre but many of them are in need refining and balancing. In fact, Phoenix Point was developed by the creators of the original XCOM series although its battle system resembles the more recent games in the series which I'm pretty sure they had nothing to do with. It isn’t included in any Expansion or Season passes – this is a brand new piece of DLC. Phoenix Point is a blend of overworld menus and turn-based SRPG battles that are set up very similarly to the ones in XCOM. New Vehicle Customizations: Upgrade any vehicle with new engines, hull modules, or weaponry, mix and match their components and paint them how you want them to appear.Chanced upon Phoenix Point and decided to read some reviews and watch some gameplays. Just finished XCOM2 WOTC and is looking for another turn-based strategy game.New Vehicle: Test drive the Kaos Buggy, a makeshift vehicle that sports two different weapons alongside its innate ability to hit the gas when things get too hairy!.These may or may not have a tendency to malfunction at critical moments though. New weapons are available for your units too to offer more firepower to soldiers. And if the whole scrap aesthetic is grating on you, toggle the ‘fancy’ option on the vehicles for a garish change of scenery! Existing vehicles haven’t been forgotten either with new weapons for the Armadillo, Aspida and Scarab all included in this DLC. ![]()
